Afternoon T.E.E
Together Educating & Empowering
Every 2nd Thursday of the month, from 1pm to 4pm. Afternoon T.E.E.s are an opportunity for providers, consumers and their family members to connect, educate and empower one another. A variety of service providers are available to assist you, such as:
- Benefits Counseling
- Case management
- Treatment Education Advocacy
- Family Advocacy
- Housing Information and Referral
- Transportation Vouchers
- Counseling
And many more community services
Resource Library
All clients may access the materials in the resource library. The library contains books, reference materials and videos on HIV/AIDS and related topics.
Computer Lab
All clients may use the computer lab as needed. Software is provided for writing letters, resumes, etc. Internet access is provided for research and information.
Family Advocacy
All clients may use the computer lab as needed. Software is provided for writing letters, resumes, etc. Internet access is provided for research and information.
- Peer-based counseling and emotional support
- Early intervention / diagnosis information
- In-depth information and referrals
- Personalized follow-up on client’s needs and progress
Treatment Education & Adherence
Treatment educators are available to answer questions about HIV treatment. A treatment educator can assist you in the following areas:
- Starting combination therapy
- Adherence to medications
- Meal and medication schedules
- Personalized follow-up on client’s needs and progress
- Drug side effects and interactions
Mental Health Services
Eligible clients may receive an array of mental health services. Services include the following:
- Individual, couples, group and family counseling
- Crisis intervention services
- Psychological assessment and referral for testing
- Disease management psycho-educational groups
- Referral for psychiatric consultation

Suppoort Groups
Christie’s Place offers a variety of support groups to meet the various needs of individuals and their families. Meeting topics include:
- Spanish speaking families
- Heterosexual concerns
- Women’s issues
- Grief & bereavement
- HIV and Recovery
- Spanish speaking women’s issues
- Parents of positive children
Friends for Life
The goal of the Friends for Life peer mentor program is to create and maintain emotional and moral support, practical support and friendship in an ongoing relationship with women and their families. Friends for Life promotes education, empowerment and healthy living.
Adult Toiletries Package
Eligible adult clients receive one personal care package per month. A package contains your choice of five personal hygiene items plus one additional item for each additional child in your household. Items include: bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, lotion and disposable razors. In addition, HIV + women and teens receive two feminine hygiene items per month. Items include your choice of tampons, panty liners, or maxi pads.

Baby Care Package
Eligible clients receive one baby care package per month for each eligible baby in the household (of diapering age up to age 4). Packages contain your choice of four baby care products. Items include: baby lotion, baby wash, baby shampoo, baby powder, rash ointment and baby wipes.

Diapers
Eligible clients receive two packages of diapers twice monthly for each eligible baby in the household (of diapering age up to age four).

Childcare Services
On-site childcare is available for clients while accessing services at Christie’s Place. With advance notice, off-site childcare is available at certain HIV/AIDS community venues such as:
- Support Groups
- Community Meeting
- Seminars / Workshops
- Other communities events upon approval
And many more community services
Food Bags
Eligible clients receive one food bag twice monthly. Food bags are available on Thursdays and Fridays only, after 12:00 pm.

Emergency Food Pantry
All clients may access the food pantry on an EMERGENCY basis (maximum usage is twice per month).
Haircuts
Haircuts are available to all clients once monthly. Haircuts are given on Thursdays from 1-4:30 pm. To schedule an appointment, please call 619-702-4186.
Clothes Closet
The clothes closet contains a selection of donated items of clothing, shoes and accessories for you and your family. All clients and their affected family members may access the clothes closet once monthly.
Services
Christie's Place offers an array of services in a safe,
supportive,home-like environment. Clients and affected
family members may visit on a daily basis for information,
support and to access services all in one stop.
